By the end of the course, you will also have mastered the skills you need to prepare to take the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification exam. This course explores the foundational aspects of HR, including human resource laws, hiring disciplines, and labor relations. You will learn industry-recognized practices that align with the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). You will also learn information useful for sitting for certification exams taken at more advanced stages in a human resources career, including the SHRM's Certified Professional exam and the HRCI's Associate Professional Human Resources exam. You should have basic keyboarding and computer skills, be comfortable navigating the Internet and using email, and have an understanding of a word-processing program (such as Word). However, if you plan to take the PHR exam after completing the course, you will need one of the following: A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a professional level HR position with a master's degree or higher, OR A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a professional level HR position with a bachelor's degree, OR A minimum of four (4) years of experience in a professional level HR position with less than a bachelor's degree

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
